It has been a very busy month here at Northside. The nine weeks period is over and teachers have been holding conferences with parents on the progress of students. We are hearing wonderful things about our students. This month has also shown us how wonderful our students and parents are with raising money for our school and for the community through the PTO cookie dough sales, United Way spirit links sales and Mr. Knight and Miss Northside. Additionally, there have been a variety of fun activities held this month: football and volleyball games, step team, dance team, and cheerleader practices, the book fair in the media center, spirit week, and student clubs. Open House

We had a very successful PTO Open House this evening. It was nice to see the large turn out of parents and students and to hear the compliments of our new building. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of parents and students. Our PTO has also been working hard to support the students and teachers through various activities. Have you joined the PTO yet? Have you signed up to help with some of the PTO committees? Have you purchased cookie dough from a Northside student yet? Did you see the Northside t-shirts on sale tonight? The Knight on the back of the t-shirt is amazing. Open House and PTO are an excellent to ways for the teachers, staff, parents and students to begin community building for the school year. It looks as though we are off to a great start in developing our community here at Northside.
Learning at Northside
September 3rd, 2007 — Engagement, Learning, Middle School, School year
School has been in session for eight days and it is already evident that a lot of things are taking in place in the classrooms. As we walk the halls, visit classrooms, talk with teachers, students and parents, and listen to the interactions between the students and teachers, it appears that we are going to have a great year.
